24 Hours in Bryce Canyon National Park

written in bryce canyon, national park, nps, utah, usa, travel

Work sent me out west and I got to tag on a trip to Bryce Canyon National Park for a day! It is a 4 hour drive from Las Vegas and a pretty straight road trip! Bryce Canyon became a national park on February 25, 1928 as the 17th national park! So let's explore!

I arrived at Bryce Canyon around 10am! First stop as always was the National Park sign and the next stop was the visitors center for a pin! I could not check into my campsite till Noon so I went off to drive the 15 miles of the park that make up the Southern Scenic Drive. I got to stop at lots of over looks, see natural bridges and so much more! I ate lunch at the food truck located near the end of the scenic route.

After adventuring I went to set up my campsite at the sunset campgrounds. I truly loved how private this campground felt and the home vibes it had. The campground hosts were kind and the bathrooms were really well kept up!

Later in the afternoon I hiked the most famous of Bryce canyon trails, Wall Street and Queens Garden Loop. This hike at sunset was amazing but remember it is a moderate 3.5 mile hike and you are in nature so please wear appropriate footwear and carry water! This trail showed off the towering orange hoodoos that resemble skyscrapers. The hoodoos were created by a combination of rain erosion, wind erosion, and a process called frost wedging. Fun fact Bryce Canyon has the greatest concentration of hoodoos on Earth!!

The views on this hike were amazing

I headed back to my camp and tucked in to my little car camping set up.

The next morning thanks to my jet boil I got to have a cuppa coffee and sunrise at sunset point before heading back to Las Vegas to catch my flight!
