A Train Ride to Indiana Dunes!
So today I got to spend a few hours in Indiana Dunes National Park! Below is the obligatory park sign photo!! I struck my signature pose and J also struck his. Can you spot J in the park photo op?
Now on to document this trip! We took the South Shoreline Train from the Millennium Station in Chicago to Dune Park Indiana. It was a lovely metro ride and very economical! We got to checkout the visitors center, rent bikes to make our way to the dunes, swim in Lake Michigan, and learn so much about the park!
All in all it was a very short visit to this national park that did not give it full justice but it did let me achieve my dream of swimming in a lake that has waves! It was cold clear water! Who knows maybe one day I will go back to explore this park more and to learn about it!
Note for future travel. Rent your bikes in Chicago and take them on the train with you! You will be able to rent better bikes and it make your life so much more logistically sound!
