Day 3: Northern California Road Trip!
The next morning I woke up late and to see the sunrise I had to jog over to the meadow near The Ahwahnee Lodge. I seriously think the light shining off of half-dome has mesmerizing capabilities
This morning I was off to explore the lower Yosemite falls and more of the pullovers in the valley floor! As I started the Lower Yosemite Falls trail this raven decided to pose for me and so here are some of his best takes.
The trail was gentil with great views and so many Steller's Jay's playing about!
I stopped at a pull over called valley view and found a rock a drank in this life giving view.
After prying myself away from the view I headed over to bridal veil falls.
I decided to have a picnic in the valley and in the distance I spotted a black bear! Yes the bear looks brown but Yosemite only has black bears. The brown color is due to their diet being different from there east coast brethren. The last of the grisly were killed out of Yosemite about 100 years ago.
The rest of the day was spent hopping around the valley at pullouts and eating delish pizza in curry village!
For sunset I convinced my travel buddy to head back over to valley view! As we were driving a afternoon thunderstorm began to form over El Capitan!
The colors did not play across the valley, but we got to see the bats come out and it was divine! I will live with this moment in my head for the rest of my days.
With it being our last night in the valley I finally took a pick of our cabin in Curry Village!
