A New England Road Trip: Day 5!
Day 5: This morning I woke up and got to see the dreamy Inn Victoria. The home was built in 1851 and had so much charm. The breakfast spread was amazing! Inn Victoria is part of a Vermont multi inn walking trail where you walk between several inns and have a place to stay the night and an amazing breakfast the next morning! Definitely something to keep in mind for leaf peeping season.
After breakfast, I headed to the Green Mountains of Vermont to visit Hildene. The Historic home of Robert Lincoln, the only child of Abraham and Mary Todd Lincoln to survive to adulthood. The Lincolns built Hildene as a summer home at the turn of the 20th century. At the time, Robert was president of the Pullman Company—the largest manufacturing corporation in the country.
From the organ, to the gardens, to the astronomy tower the house was amazing! Getting to see the Pullman Sunbeam Rail car was also a dream and a great way to end the trip before heading back to Boston to return the rental car and head home. P.S. Boston traffic made me want to cry as a amazon truck had caught fire in the tunnels and it took me over two hours to drive 8 miles!
