Sunny Chicago!
I made it to The Windy City! Hello Chicago!! J and I went to go meet some amazing friends who hosted us and shared their favorite bits of the city!
We started off with an amazing breakfast at Lula Cafe! Then we were off to get metro cards and to see The Bean and some amazing street art! !
Next, we went to see the Old Library which is now the Chicago Cultural Center. It has a cute Bronze Cow sculpture in front of it. The cow was originally part of the "Cows on Parade" art exhibition!
Walking around the city we saw so many cool features and buildings!
We then went on a river architecture tour! It was amazing to learn about the city skyline and history! We also got to learn about how engineers reversed the flow of the Chicago River to deal with there pollution issues.... Not great for the cities that they flushed the water into... but cool from an engineering perspective,

After the tour we walked by my favorite building from the tour! The carbide and carbon building! We also saw some cool sculptures on our walk back to take an afternoon nap!
That night we went to Daisies for dinner. I am gonna be honest this was one of my favorite eats of the trip! If you want more info on the food follow the link!
The next day we went to the The Art Institute of Chicago it was FANTASTIC! The first piece that grabbed my soul was one of there many stained glass pieces.
For dinner we headed off to one of the top bars in the world, The Aviary.
The Next, day we took it easy and rested up! We got amazing coffee from Sawada Coffee and had traditional Chicago Dog!
For dinner we had Duck Duck Goat before getting to experience another world class bar, Three Dots and a Dash. I gotta say Three dots and a Dash was definitely my vibe!
After our libations we got to experience Chicago at night. We watched "Art on the Mart", and got to see the city and the river in a new light!!
The next morning we got to walk through some of the subway tunnels. The tunnel under the Macy's building held stained glass artwork that was amazing! Getting to see such beauty on a standard trip to the metro was a joy! This art work was presented by the Smith Museum of Stained Glass Windows. It featured works created between 1880 and 1910 from buildings in Chicago and San Francisco. Go walk the pedway! it was beautiful!
