Day 2 of my New England Road Trip started with a foggy forecast and a trip to "Cafe This Way" in Bar Harbor. The blueberry pancakes and shakshouka were a delicious start to the day!

After fueling, up I made the drive north to the Schoodic District of Acadia National Park. This section of the park is not as frequented as some of the other districts in the park and so I was greeted by a peaceful morning!

I got to visit the Rockefeller Welcome Center and learn about the Schoodic Institute. This section of the park had a history of being a working military base to ensure solid communications. After WWII the military had reduced need for the site and it was transitioned to the department of the interior. I got to visit Schoodic Point and see the amazing rock features as they met the sea. The fog made for quite a magical morning of exploring!

I continued my Journey north to Steuben Maine! Here Acadia Puffin Cruise operates during the months that the puffins are mating. The tour takes you out to the waters about the Petit Manan Island. The island is home to some island researches and the second tallest lighthouse in Maine the Petit Manan Lighthouse. Getting to see the Puffins was such a highlight!! They exceeded every expectation for this amazing bird. I recommend the Acadia Puffin Cruise so highly!

The puffins were absolutely amazing to see and were far cuter than even I had expected!!

While on the tour we also go to see some seals and other birds!

Next, I headed over to the Bass Harbor Head Light Station! Now this is in the southern section of the park and was quite a drive to get to but was so well worth it! the light house in the fog was amazing! The hike down to see the light house from the shore involved a little bit of rocks scrambling but it was so worth it for the views!
