A New England Road Trip: Day 2!
Day 2 started with another boat ride! The Sea Princess Cruises launches from the North Harbor and offers one Ranger lead tour a day! I got to hear all about the Cranberry Islands and Bear Island Light House, East Bunker Ledge Monument, where the seals love to lounge, and so much more!!
We got to explore Little Cranberry Island also known as Islesford island! here I got a closer understanding of how the lobster industry interweaves itself with conservation efforts and global warming. I would highly recommend the Islesford Historical Museum! I also got a lobster roll at "The Salty Fisherman" snack shack!
The last section of the boat ride had us exploring the Somes Sound Fjard! This area is home to the the vertical Eagle Cliffs where the perigon falcons make there nests. It was to early in the season to see the falcons but the area was amazing.
Next, I headed over to Sieur de Monts Nature Center which is home to the Wild Gardens Of Acadia. All of the plants were amazing and I got to learn about some of the natural springs that were present in the area before man started shifting the water resources! The weather decided that rain was needed so I headed back to camp and took a nap before my afternoon adventures.
I had secured afternoon tickets to Cadillac Mountain and drove up to take in the vista! This view was grand! The weather did not quite cooperate and the wind and cold rain kept pelting me so the trip was shorter than I had hoped.
After Cadillac Mountain I headed over to hike around Jordan Pond and then to have the famed popovers that have been served at the Jordan Pond House Restaurant since its establishment. I got to sit and watch the sunset from this vista and I can't regret any of my choices!
